What’s My California Delicious? Competitive Rowing in Lake Natoma

Company Founder Eric describes one of his passions- Competitive Rowing….

Lake Natoma, just beyond Sacramento, was the host for this year’s national collegiate rowing championships for men.  College teams from all around the U.S. traveled west for the final event of the rowing year.  The most prestigious event, the men’s heavyweight eight, was won by the University of Washington.  Harvard University was second, followed by Brown, Northeastern and California.

MidRace

It looks easy when you’re standing on the shore, but these rowers are finely-tuned athletes.  They train eleven months a year, on the water and off, pursuing a rigorous training regiment that includes, weight lifting, long distance running, erging and rowing.  The eleven months of training is all focused on a six minute race.  That’s dedication!
