What’s My California Delicious? Being girlie in West Los Angeles

Staff member Maya blogs about her weekend in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, California in 2 parts.

Neither my friend nor I know L.A at all so we just let our intuition guide us on what turned into a fun day of girlie indulgences: Shopping, Spa and Frozen Yogurt.

We wanted to shop but not to spend too much so we hit the thrift shops on Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood.

l

NCJWLA Thrift Store- This place had so many wonderful gems- These Darth Vader Slippers seemed like the perfect gift for my brother and I wanted to buy the globe as a gift to myself!

They had a really extensive vintage section with a variety of styles and sizes. Everything was in great condition. This was definitely one of the best thrift stores I have ever seen.

We also stopped by the Good Will across Santa Monica Boulevard and managed to score some great deals there too, thanks to their “Red Tag” sale.

My California Delicious? Going to thrift stores in new towns where EVERYTHING seems exotic and different.

Next we went to B & J Nails to get pedicures as Lazy Saturday gifts to ourselves….

This place was amazing: they had more colors than I had ever seen in one nail salon. It was so big that when my friend and I both get pedicures, we couldn’t see or hear each other in the salon.

I got a wonderful pedicure (and calf massages) for $11 which is better than anywhere else I know in the Bay Area. Not for the highly strung- this place is the definitely of disorganized chaos! I loved every minute of it!

Finally we went to Fro Play- where frozen delicious delights and sweet dreams are made.

I wanted all of the flavors – Blueberry, Key Lime Pie, Red Velvet, Vanilla, Tart, the list goes on…and so I sacrificed some of the delicious looking toppings in order to be able to taste them all.

My California Delicious? The Key Lime Pie flavor tasted like a frozen Margarita.

So far, I absolutely love LaLaLand.
