Both of the fantastic performers, Orquesta Dharma and Viento y Marea, who played in the penultimate Point Richmond Summer Concert brought a Latin Jazz vibe to the central square of downtown Point Richmond…
First up was Orquesta Dharma, who brought a large band with wonderful brass instruments.
Even though the stage seemed packed, you could really hear and appreciate all the different instruments individually. The band members seemed to have create collaborative chemistry with each other.
By the end of the show, lots of people were leaping around in the setting sun. The jazzy brassy notes inspired all dancing styles and created a really diverse and lively dancefloor!
The intermission allowed everyone to catch their breath and get a drink refill from the best bartender in Point Richmond!
Raffle tickets were being sold by volunteers throughout the evening and all proceeds support the Point Richmond Music Series directly- such a great cause!
This week, we donated this yummy California Sparkling Wine Gift to the raffle- California Chandon Sparkling Wine Gift Basket.
During the intermission, Orquesta Dharma were selling their record to the crowd while concert MC Sydney was giving information on the raffle prizes and pulling some winners!
The Point Richmond Music Series is run entirely by dedicated volunteers like Sydney who create raise money, promote local musical acts and build community interest so that these concerts can happen year after year.
Next up was Viento y Marea, another large band focused on prominent beats and Latin rhythms, as seen by the drums and guitars in the foreground.
This band brought everyone to their feet!
Such a lively, energetic and fun band, they chatted with the audience and seemed to be having a great time on stage.
Dancing under the moonlight sky- is there a better way to start your weekend?
Thanks again to everyone at Point Richmond Music for organizing and running such a great event and introducing the community of Point Richmond to dynamic and unique bands such as Orquesta Dharma and Viento y Marea!
