Ferry Plaza Farmers Market 20th Birthday Bash: San Francisco, California

Guest Blogger Anna describes a recent outing in San Francisco, California…

Saturday May 18 was the 20th Anniversary of the popular, always busy, farmers market at the San Francisco Ferry Plaza. The plaza was buzzing with locals, tourists and visitors of all ages enjoying the increased number of food, and drink stands. The celebration highlighted the best of the plaza farmers market, which occurs regularly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the year. There were a large number of stands dedicated to organic and locally grown fruits, vegetables and nuts. I noticed a large amount of food stands selling meals that were gluten free, organic,  vegan, or  using ingredients such as quinoa, black beans and soy among others. It was an unusually warm day in San Francisco and the energy of the local vendors made the plaza birthday bash an event not to be missed.
